Warframe is my favorite game and it has an awesome support for xinput gamepads. Myself I decided to go with xbox one wireless controller (+ adapter + chatpad + FPS Freek Galaxy) for pc.

I believe the learning curve to use the controller is pretty high - and this is the most fascinating aspect (in my opinion) of the steam controller: gyro aiming combined with the movement of your thumb. By increasing the smoothing settings you get better results with accuracy - otherwise the aiming in fps games becomes pretty jumpy. The ideology to replace a mouse with a touchpad (haptic touchpad) is pretty neat and impressive but you have to go whole lot of settings to make it work in the way you want. My biggest bug bear was the camera tracking with the track pad on the right of the remote which needed to be tweaked a lot in the Steam settings to get it right for me, and also the fact that depending on how fast you move your thumb the camera turn speed would increase the faster you moved, meaning in a twitch situation you could find yourself turning way past where you wanted to aim.Īlso the fact that that the controller is quite bulky meant it fits very awkwardly in your hand and makes it uncomfortable for long sessions (in my hands anyway). Having used the steam remote on Warframe for about a month last year it does eventually become a very nice controller, but it does take a lot of tweaking and some getting used to, which may put people of using it as many want to be comfortable with it from out of the box. I may create a video for using the Steam remote with Warframe with a comparison between it and the Xbox remote, I have had the Steam remote since last October (one of the first shipments). Specifically, I was hoping to hear from anyone who tried it with Warframe.
